As NJHS president, Madison conducted the November meeting. NJHS members were informed of a “special” project added to the agenda initiated by her and NJHS secretary, Anerria. The agenda included a bold title NEW NJHS PROJECT (Make cards for students/bus driver #59)
Excitement and love filled the CMS auditorium when students were given the instructions of the new project as the words, “We are all family here at CMS” was spoken proudly by one of the NJHS members. NJHS students excitedly gathered in the cafeteria to complete the card making session of their meeting.
Each card was made with love and included a complimentary “special gift” donated by our local restaurant managers Golden Corral, Mrs. Baker and McDonalds, Elizabeth Horvat.
A huge thanks to our local restaurants for expressing their gratitude by donating gift cards to NJHS for a “free meal” to include in cards.
All NJHS students are required to attend all meetings. If an emergency arises and a member cannot attend a meeting, the member is required to inform the chapter adviser and provide a written excuse. Missing more than one meeting constitutes grounds for probation. Extenuating circumstances need to be addressed to the chapter adviser. Members are responsible for all information and polices presented at the meeting whether or not they attend.
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has starting our annual canned food drive that will benefit many needy families during the holiday season.
Our holiday food drive started on November 4th and will end November 20th.
All collected items will be used to help stock the Glory Outreach Ministry, Caroline Department of Social Service food pantries, and to make Thanksgiving baskets to assist several families. Due, to the high demand of assistance needed our goal this year is to collect 3,000 canned goods.
We are excited to continue to assist those that are in need!
