The NJHS at Caroline Middle School is an organization that promotes appropriate recognition for its students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship.

The National Junior Honor Society Interest Forms are now available and can be picked up in the 7th-grade guidance office starting on January 10, 2020.  7TH Grade students with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least a 3.5. are eligible for membership. All Interest Forms and documentation must be turned in by February 28, 2020. 

CMS NJHS Giving Back!

January 9 – January 23

This is a 10-day challenge!  The National Junior Honor Society will be collecting change (as part of their December Community Service Project) to support Caroline’s Promise in the Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser.  We are asking that all CMS staff, parents, and students help us by donating change.

CMS NJHS Supports Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness Month

This year for September’s service project, Caroline Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society members collected over 2,000 baby items in support of Neonatal Intensive Care  Awareness month.  Items included diapers, onesies, bottles, soft rattles, books, booties, blankets, handmade hats from local church ministries, mittens, hats, soft music players, and bibs.  Also, ALL items included a handwritten personalized letter of encouragement by each member.  Baby products and clothes were distributed to parents and their newborns at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Mary Washington Hospital, and to parents of Caroline County that delivered preemie babies in the month of September.



September is Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness month (NICA) is designed to honor families experiencing a stay in the neonatal intensive care unit and the health professionals who care for them.

CMS, National Junior Honor Society will be making care bags and personalized notes to kids, health professionals and parents to show our love and support.  Please drop off all items in the main office.

Deadline for items September 24, 2018.

TOPIC: Time Management

  • Prioritize
  • Work on homework during breaks, Eagle Hour, free time, and through out the week instead of waiting until the last minute.
  •  Limit distractions such as electronics
  • limit procrastination
  • Choose activities that occur on separate days
  • Stay connected within the club activities and events
  • Stay up later to wake up early to finish homework (in moderation)
  • Be productive with the time you spend in each activity
  • Complete service hours or any other club requirements over the weekend instead of playing video games or watching television
  • Practice Accountability
  • Always be a leader

NJHS Applications Are Now Available

The National Junior Honor Society is looking for students who show outstanding qualities in scholarship, character, citizenship, leadership and service. If your student is currently in the 7th grade has a 3.5 GPA or higher and feels he/she meets the required criteria, please encourage your student to pick up an application. The application packets have detailed information and time sensitive deadline dates. We don’t want your student to miss an opportunity to be aligned with an organization that will help him/her become a more effective leader! Applications can be picked up in room C-138.
